Zu - Carboniferous

English

When I listened this album for the first time I went on to research more info about the band. I will not enter in details, but Zu is a triarchy of three (dãr) italian musicians who are very competent in mixing jazz and math rock with a good degree of distortion. If you don't like math rock, defy yourself as in this opus is worth the effort. Balance and wise use of the three instruments play the central role in the development of the sound. Good for partying!

Released by Ipecac Recordings in 2009 and it have various versions for pockets of any sizes. It must be collected.

Anal Massaker - Vergewaltiger

English

So, I think it's time for more grind-based violence. Anal Massaker may have a silly name, but it have mastered the dominance of the grind technique, being fun, social critic and, very, very noisy. Toni Mastropaolo is the founder and the main member since 1989. Good for shocking people who listen to pop. Released by Noise Variations in 1998 with a cover art who lacks the expression of the splits and demos of this band, in my opinion.

Atrax Morgue - Death-Orgasm Connector

English

Marco Corbelli was a death-addict. He expressed his mania through distortion since 1993, releasing his works with the help of many underground industrial labels (such Old Europa Cafe, Self Abuse Rec) but mainly within his own self established label: Slaughter Productions. Death-Orgasm Connector is another death-obsessed exploration of the italian musician; it is very simple in it approach, yet very effective in the manipulation of sound - a lesson that many myspaces didn't learn as for today.
Other reason for listening this is that Corbelli's death addiction also took the best of him and he commited suicide in 2007; so, Death-Orgasm Connector is not just a bunch of man-made sounds: is a statement. Find this and bought this. There won't be any others.

A VERY NICE artwork, thanks to Dark-world.ru for the big scan.
Honor Corbelli and Death.

Maldoror - She

English

This is what I call schizophrenic noise. Why? Cause he don't just torture you with a unceasing and devastating noise and don't show you a linear structure like an industrial noise or noise rock. No, it incorporates daily aspects of a noisy perspective: it is philosophical, it is appliable, it is a high, it is to see the world with other lenses; perfect for a cartoon or a alucinogenic vibe.
In technical terms is a collaboration between Masami Akita (ahm, Merzbow?) and Mike Patton (Fantomas, Mr, Bungle, Faith No More!). So, it's a nipo-american work, an unique album in all senses; it have a unique sonority made by the junction of these artists, and also is the only one that they made together. The album art (actually a link) is very beautiful; the shocking pink gives it an air of frailty, which is quite bittersweet, exactly what "Le Chants of Maldoror is like this: bittersweet.
So, get your shit togheter; prepare the tea, the cartoon and the mind.

Released by Ipecac Recordings.

This is now a bilingual blog - Agora este é um blog bilíngue

English

If anyone follows this, it might have noticed that the last post had a portuguese translation. This is not stopping here. The idea was given by a friend of mine, who already joined the post board. Her argument that noise music listeners (and underground in general) are rare in our country. So, it's much about widening frontiers and offering new possibilities to other readers. She have bare notions of english, so, her posts will be mainly in portuguese. I will try to translate them, if I got the time.

That's it; soon she will be posting something and you pals will know her.

Macronympha - Bulk Density

English
--
Almost two hours of noise artillery. Bulk Density was released as a double CDr in 2006 by the now dead Harshnoise label. This for the weeking, people, as I will stay the same out, spending my time away from computers and noise blasted emesis. But, for those who will not...

...feel the density.

Black Leather Jesus - Torturous Chapter

Black Leather Jesus is a noise collective collaboration which only consistent members are Richard Ramirez and Sean Matzus. Formed in 1989, there is releases enough for the counting. They usually publish single cassetes with two sides full and single titled. This one, Torturous Chapter have some divided tracks here, we will gladly share, while the ripoff is still in two entire parts:

A1 - Sabotaged Communication - 10:49
A2 - No Use - 3:23
A3 - World as We Tolerate It - 15:57
B1 - Center of Balance - 5:52
B2 - Form of Mental Symphony - 14:02
B3 - Aquabondage: Water Symphony - 6:09
B4 - Final Chapter (Where Death Begins) - 4:07

Made published by Old Europa Café in 1995. Probably limited, I think.

Prurient - Cocaine Death

Cocaine Death is, by far in my opinion, the best introduction to the audial inspiration signed by Dominick Fernow, Prurient. The album is, really, a compilation of three past tapes, dating to 2007 and 2008. Cocaine Death, was released in the same year by the militant noise efforts of Hospital Productions, Fernow's label.
We don't know the exact motives for releasing these tracks separately at first, but the publishing of this compilation was a good choice anyway, reuniting exercises with similar impact and development. Here we have Prurient convincing of keyboards, drumming and other paraphernalia to deliver a successfuly controlled barrage of noise. There is some melody around, but without presence to give the tracks a common structure; the same relies on excessive and delicious modular disharmony. There is rhythm, but is very similar to the found patterns of rhythm in lenghty and englobing noise pieces, And, oh, yes, it have lyrics too!
This is still the better and most fidel excerpt of Prurient career witouth stepping out of noise. In my opinion, it's better to Bermuda Drain who have for certain a more popular electro approach. Also, is easily found around for just a few bucks away. The insert with additional photographs turns this album into a moral obligation. Aquire it!

The main artwork is here for useful appreciation and tasty amostrage :9

Senseless Apocalypse - 185 Song Demo

Now, is time to move away a little bit (a very tiny bit) from pure noise. No, Senseless Apocalypse is grindcore but still have both feet into distortion and its marvelous 185 Song Demo is mostly enjoyable. In the long run, while listening the album, the endless waves of riffs, screams and beatings refers too much to a kind of noise wall for me. The demo was released by the also japanese Blurred Records in 1993 (same label of Meat Shits, Nasum and other grind bands). For unknown reasons a obscure and dead label called Criminal Tapes, also released the demo in the same year - maybe a interrupted effort? - while in the demo info the band and Blurred are made responsible for the tape.
Anyway, Senseless Apocalypse manages to deliver violence and impetus with 185 songs lasting one to thirty two seconds! The band is still active, if you like them try buy some stuff; as for many of our favourite acts, this is not more a possibility. For fans of Anal Massaker, The Gerogerigegege, Meat Shits, Agathocles...

Aube - Hydrophobia + Lil Bonus

The name of Akifumi Nakajima can be found in a big part of internet, so, I'm skipping introductions.
This hard to find release, "Hydrophobia", (if I'm right) was originally conceived to be played inside a artistical installation, back into 1990. It received a proper tape form in 1991, by the grace of Vanilla Records that, judging by his site, it's now dead and forlorned.
Hydrophobia couldn't be found anywhere at the first time that I tried to; now that I found it, it's a good time to make a homage to true experimentation based... on water sounds (!).

Bonus

I'm gonna post this for you, lazy one - and for it's killer track made in collaboration with Eric Lanzillotta. Check it out after a good day of work.

Macronympha - Melting Softly Into Time

Macronympha is a prolific and faithful reservatoire of sonic technique and experimentation. Joseph Roemer and Rodger Stella are olds timers, menacing people through tapes since first 90's. Their presence inside the noise scene is unprecedented and necessary into the ranks. This release is one of more than thousand releases; this one, focusing into mechanized tool arsenal, the usual and exciting riff raff. Released in a four (?) hands work in Hospital Productions and Self Abuse Records, back in 2005. If you are controlled by enough devotion, dig deep enough and you still can find this pearl lost in the mud of internet. It worths the bucks to possess material like this.

"These tracks were recorded by Macronympha during 1997 at Red Zone studio using mainly motorized sounds and the mechansms of common household machines, along with raw metal sounds and source tape material provided by Tim Oliveira and All Brentnall. Limited to 400 copies. LP and insert, packaged in a screen printed card stock foldover jacket." Info consulted into discogs.com.

Allegory Chapel Ltd. - Assaults on The Human Body

Noise could only be horrendous as this. Released originally by now-defunct Freedom in a Vacuum in 1990. It was rereleased in 2003 by Bone Awl dudes through their also-now-defunct label Klaxon. Second press villainously restricted to 93 copies. That's why this place exists. Highlights everywhere.
This is the albumart by Klaxon. Dunno if is the same of the prime releasing.

Exploitation and subjugation.

Bonus:

Mr. Elden, the mastermind behind Allegory Chapel is back and willing. New title is self explanatory: "Ressurection". Do yourself a favor. Also, if aren't familiar, I have the pleasure to introduce you to him in a stage act - probably the first one recorded of him:

PS: For some strange reason, I couldn't post the embed. Here is the link.

Hanatarash - 2

Hanatarash is classic noise. The collage here is pretty dense and intense; while it lacks decibels to rupture eardrums, the little small sketches are all there, almost effortlessy. I like the furious sincerity of this release. I would be angry like them if my dad was a car too.
Not really a hard to find because is already impossible to track available copies anywhere. If you own a copy, I'd suggest to keep it like an investment.
Published with a cool, dizzy and bizarre artwork by Alchemy Records, from Osaka, Japan, in 1988.

As I have readed in a great review of this album in discogs.com: "You only see the word NO!"

DON'T EVER LISTEN TO THIS SHIT!
